My family and I worshipped in Living Faith Church, Raji Oba, Lagos in my late pre-teen and early teen years. At the time, that auditorium looked gigantic while the children and teens sections were spacious and classy, at least in my eyes.
I can’t begin to describe the awe I felt when the office block sprung up in a manner akin to Aladdin’s castle in The Arabian Nights. The entire facility was considered to be state-of-the-art. Even the toilet facilities were widely acclaimed as posh and super comfy.
I passed by that complex this morning and it is a far cry from the glorious picture it painted in those days. The facilities still look similar to the image I had and they look well-maintained but they looks drab when compared to its current facilities as well as modern architectural designs. It’s a little difficult to believe that this was the same building adults and children alike gawked at with awe when it was newly completed.
In life, as you focus on your assignments, you will have results and accomplishments that seem awesome and unprecedented. You will break records and make great advancements. But if you keep that focus, you will look back years later to discover that the achievements you celebrated in the past are nothing compared to what you currently have.
Celebrate every landmark, rejoice in every breakthrough but don’t let it stop you from reaching forward and further ahead. Enjoy life everyday, one day at a time, one accomplishment at a time. That way, you will not be overburdened with anxiety about the future and your mind will be free to soar.
