What are you doing this Christmas? I trust you will be reading my eBook, listening to the audio tracks, hanging out with family and friends, spending time with loved ones in their homes, wining and dining while holding thoughts of Jesus’s birth, death and resurrection within sight.
I watched a beautiful movie last Sunday while chilling with members of my cell centre. The ambience was soothing and pleasant and the movie seemed a thousand times more fun than it would have been if I had watched it alone. Beginning from the fist scene, lessons, some of which I’ll share here, popped at me and resonated with my being. But they weren’t all serious. Some scenes were quite hilarious and I laughed out loud many times.
The 2016 Box Office comedy drama casting Danny Glover, Gabrielle Union and several others showed me the importance of sharing love, food and laughter with one’s family at Christmas. It reminded me of the importance of raising our kids in ways that foster unity and inhibit sibling rivalry. I saw how living out one’s values brings peace and soul-satisfaction.
Most remarkably, I saw that having a great marriage requires giving large-sized helpings of selflessness every day. It reminded me of a chapter in eBook, They Called Me Stupid- Lessons from My Father. I included a list of questions therein for single ladies and guys to help us walk into marriage with eyes wide open. I wrote those questions knowing that a great marriage is built by two great people willing to do the work it takes to please and serve each other.
I will be going home for Christmas and for a few days, I will shut down my laptop and focus on serving my family. In fact, I intend to cook our “Christmas rice” as I’ve been doing for a few years. Being an entrepreneur shouldn’t stop me from giving my family the love they deserve.
So, it’s almost Christmas. What are your plans? I hope you create fun, long-lasting memories for you and your loved ones.
